Christmas Blogger Tag

Hello Everyoneeeeeee, I am soo excited for Christmas this year and it’s approaching quickly. This year will be my first Christmas with my daughter and I am over the moon.

I have had at least half of my presents wrapped since October. I feel that it’s only right to make sure that I get my Christmas Tag post out this year!
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

Ouuuuuu this is a good one. So I get super excited this time of year and I have been having a hard time narrowing down my absolute favourite.

I have always loved the classics like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph. It just doesn’t feel like Christmass without watching the classics.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

When I was younger I had tons of family we visited around Christmas. On Christmas eve we visited my traditional Portuguese side of the family so we waited until Exactly midnight to open presents. Then we would leave around 1 am, drive to Aroura Ontario and go to sleep at our other side of the families house.

We would wake up and have Christmas together. We would have breakfast open more presents, it was great. By Boxing day we would be home and we would have Christmas with just the four of us, my sister and my parents.

As we got older things changed and became calmer. We would still go for Christmas eve but we would go home that same night. We would get to open one present from under our tree before bed.

Christmas morning we would wake up, open presents then my mom would start making Christmas brunch. We would spend the day in our jammies. Boxing Day we would wake up, my mom would get the turkey in the oven or slow cooker at like 6 am, then we would go boxing day shopping and be back to make the rest of dinner.

This year as a Family were starting a new tradition. You might be thinking “not another one of those elf on a shelf things” and you’re lucky cause it’s not!

We decided that we will open one gift on Christmas Eve as a family. It will be a gift designated for the family and will be something to do the night of Christmas Eve. Like a movie or storybook or a board game. So far that’s all that’s planned as something we can carry forward through the years. We will open all the rest of the presents on Christmas Day.

Was that too much information. I feel like I rambled on.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

For real right now I’m drawing a huge blank on this. Why can’t I rememberrrrr at least something lol! Mommy Brain for sure.

4. Favourite festive food?

I’ve always loved my Vovo’s Portuguese food. She uses to make this huge delicious feast with all kinds of food from every food group even the extra ones like sweets and goodies.

Mmmm my mom does make her Portuguese shrimp better though so I’m totally excited that my mom will be making it this year for Christmas.

I love the entire feast my Vovo makes but my mom’s version of her shrimp has got to be my fave. 👌

5. Favourite Christmas gift?

I think my favourite gift was the Jewelry set from my Hubby the first Christmas we started dating. He got me the most beautiful ring eating set that matched the necklace he gave me for my birthday a couple weeks prior. He really wanted me to feel special and felt every woman deserves a nice set of jewelry.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

One of my favourite scents around the holidays stems back to when I was a pre-teen. I was told that it had been discontinued in Canada so if I’m wrong please let me know.

The scent I really love around Christmas time is Frosted Cranberry Vanilla from Victoria Secrets Give Me Love line. It’s so soft and sweet at the same time and it lasts a while too because you only need at most 2 squirts. So magnificent.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Maybe I should have read all the questions before I started answering. If I type it all out again this post will be twice as long so just read the wander to question 2 again if you really wanna know 🙏👌

8. What tops your tree?
When I was younger it was always an Angel. I don’t know what we will do this year yet.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

So the only thing that really rings a bell might not actually count. But, as a little girl, I had always wanted an easy bake oven. One year I did receive an Easy bake oven but it always sat in the back of my closet because my parents never put a light bulb inside of it 🙃 such a tease.

10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?

My favourite part of Christmas is seeing my loved ones open their gifts I worked so hard on putting together. I find real joy in putting together little gift boxes and gift baskets. When you’re really close with someone and can fill them with lots of meaningful fun little items it’s a real treat to see their happiness.

That’s all for my Christmas tag! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and made it all the way to the end of my post. I hope you all enjoyed learning a little bit about me & my family. If you feel inspired by my Christmas tag feel free to do your own version. Tag me in it and send me a link! I can’t wait to read them all. Merry Christmas Everyone!
