Pita Chips

Hi everyone welcome to today’s post. Today’s post I’ve been meaning to share with you for a long time now but, I haven’t made them in a long time.Making them for the post was really important to me so that way I could get some good pictures for you guys to Envision what I’m making when I say pita chips. The idea for pita chips came to me a couple of years ago when I had made tacos for my ex-boyfriend and I and it was just the two of us.So I was left with like a whole pack basically of Pita wraps. I wanted to use up the rest of these Pita wraps instead of just wasting them because that’s not only a waste of money but that’s a waste of food too.I figured why not try to make them into some type of chips that sounds easy enough right and it was. These chips are great for parties of all types. I’m did them earlier today for the Super Bowl party were having. I was hoping to get the post out but life happens.Seriously though these are really quick to make and they’re easy too and a great way to use up leftovers in your house. What I like to do first is take the pitas along with a pizza cutter and a cutting board.I cut the pitas in half. Then I cut the pitas into smaller triangle shaped pieces so that way they look like tortilla chips. What I do to put the seasoning together is I take any oil that I have laying around the house preferably cooking oil cuz they are going to bake and certain oils just don’t do well with heat.I put the oil in a bowl and then I mix in a little bit of pepper and seasoning salt.Really you could do whatever seasonings that you and your family like or want to try. It’s really easy to just make whatever you want flavour-wise.I know people who have done cinnamon and sugar and made more of a sweet pita chip. They are delicious. The one im sharing with you tonight is more of a Savory flavour to go with like salsa and avocado dips.Once you’ve cut the pitas into small triangles you want to lay them on a baking sheet. You want to set your oven to 350 and get it preheating. You’re going to spread them out so that way there’s a little bit of space between each of them. You don’t want to over fill the baking pan so you’re going to have to do a couple batches of them.I like to I’ll baste the bottom of the baking pan so that way both sides get seasoning on them and it gets done quicker.I lay out the pitas on the pan and then I baste the top side of them and then I put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 4 minutes and then they usually most definitely need an extra 2 minutes but, that also depends on how crispy you like them. After they’re done I then take them out of the oven and then I let them sit on a plate with paper towels to soak up some of that extra oil off of them. Then I layer the baking sheet with another round of pita chips. After they’ve soaked up some oil I put them in a bowl and serve them up with a dip I make with mashed avocados salt and pepper. That’s all for today I hope you enjoyed this little post.If you try them let me know how it goes and if you try a different seasoning then let me know what seasonings used so I can try them too!!! Have an awesome night!!!
