Just Dont Take #1

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for stopping by. As some of you may know I have Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s disease is a inflammatory chronic illness of the gut one of the two strands of IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease.)

As some of you may also know I have been transferring over posts from my previous website. Because I don’t want to lose the work on my inactive website. I’ve put so much work into it that is hate to let it go to waste.

So please while you’re reading this keep in mind that this was written by a me four years younger and a lot less wise.

You know how someone’s people will say thing that just get on your nerves or under your skin. Either they have heard it a million times or what you are saying just shouldn’t be said in the first place.

Without further ado,

Never say this: I have IBS I know what it’s like, it’s not that bad.

A lot of people find it easy to relate to IBD in fact, they love to!

They often experience a pattern of digestive upsets and are told by a doctor that they have IBS.

Well, then they get all worried and jump on the latest trending health diet thinking it’s a cure for their problems along with everyone else’s.

Well here’s just in: You’re totally wrong.

A lot of people like to relate themselves to someone in severe chronic pain for some reason and I can’t seem to understand why.

Do you want to be labeled incapable to live every day like a normal person? Do you want to live your life thinking that you are incapable of most things when really you’re perfectly fine and capable.

Over my years I have heard things like: “I know what you’re going through, I have IBS, it’s not that bad.”

Or that the person knows what a Crohn’s survivor goes through because they just generally have a weak stomach, or another great classic “It’s been going around.”

What’s been going around my inflammatory Bowel Disease?

Sorry guys, I didn’t know that was contagious…

This isn’t just a sickness bug…

If your of the population who says that you have IBS and it isn’t that bad then you need to do at least an hour of research on both IBD & IBS and then try to say that again.

IBS will never wake you up from a dead sleep and make you run to your bathroom & has no long-term destructive effects.

Unlike IBD, IBS wont require a lifetime of medications or treatment or the need to constant go for checkups and blood work when your body is in “remission”

Diet and stress may aggravate the disease but they do not cause it.

It’s not contagious and doesn’t just go around.

You have it or you don’t, and you have it for life.

When we are sick it is more than just tummy ache and it’s affecting more than just our gut and digestion.

If you don’t have Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis dont try to relate, #JUSTDON’T.

That’s all for today. Just wanted to share a piece written by a younger me. Thank you so much for stopping by.
